December 25th James Brown "THE GODFATHER OF SOUL" passed away tonight  in Atlanta Georgia.  Anyone  that loved Hendrix would have to know how he performed with Brown's group in  the 60's for a while. Music has lost a GIANT!

123.000 Euro für Hendrix-Gitarre Eine Gitarre von Jimi Hendrix ist in New York für 168 000 Dollar versteigert worden. So spielte er sich unverschämt in unsre Ohren. 
In Seattle als Arme-Leute-Kind geboren, 
Sogleich der schwarze Blues ihm stimmungsvoll aufspielt. 

Nach Reputation vergeblich er geschielt, 
In England erst da holte er sich jene Sporen. 
Alsbald er galt als größter aller Gladiatoren. 
Der wüst und virtuos wie keiner sich verhielt. 

Er konnte uns weitum das Himmelreich aufmachen.

PRÉSENTATION HENDRIX 66 : soirée hommage à Jimi Hendrix, passé en première partie de Johnny Halliday le 15/10/1966 à Villerupt. Organisé en partenariat avec la MJC de Villerupt.  Premières parties proposées par la MJC de Villerupt :
MAD IN H (Funk Rock - www.madinh.com) propose un son frais et efficace proche des mouvances Funk Rock, en mixant leurs influences et en les agrémentant de paroles en français. Présents au Festival Metiz'art 2003, Decal Scene 2006, etc... croisant la route d'Eddy la Gooyatsh, La Caution, Alifair, Mypollux, etc... MiH continue son bonhomme de chemin en sortant son premier album en 2007. Ils présenteront ici un live composé quasi-exclusivement de titres de Jimi Hendrix.
KINGSTONE (rock - www.kingstonerock.com) est un groupe de Rock de la région audunoise aux influences seventies. Outre leurs compositions originales, leur set inclue des morceaux de Led Zeppelin, ACDC, ZZ Top mais bien sûr de Jimi HENDRIX aussi. Ecumant les concerts au Luxembourg et en Belgique, Kingstone s'est aussi imposé dans sa région, notamment en partageant la scène avec Aston Villa et en se produisant au Festival Vache de Blues. Un mélange rock, blues, funk et soul musclé !
Enfin, le groupe ERIC STARCZAN (www.ericstarczan.com), explicitement influencé par Jimi HENDRIX tiendra la tête d'affiche de cet hommage. Du Blues, du Rock du Funk, tout ceci dans un mélange détonnant. En marge de sa carrière solo, Eric, travailleur acharné, est aussi le guitariste de Tony Coleman (batteur de B.B King) pour ses tournées européennes. Assister à un concert d'Eric et de son band, c'est prendre une bonne dose de feeling dont on se remet péniblement. Malgré son jeune âge, son jeu influencé par Jimi Hendrix et Stevie Ray Vaughan est d'une maturité tout simplement époustouflante. Son jeu vocal quant à lui évoque Jonny Lang.

Like its predecessors Hear My Music and Morning Symphony Ideas, Burning Desire provides a window into Jimi's growth as a musician and composer. In the shadow of Electric Ladyland, the original Jimi Hendrix Experience struggled to remain a cohesive unit. As 1969 progressed, Jimi's ceaseless creative pursuit would lead to experimental sessions and ambitious attempts to integrate new elements such as horns, percussion, rhythm guitar, and keyboards into fertile rhythm patterns and songs. Burning Desire showcases additional examples of Jimi's extended explorations with bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles at the Record Plant throughout 1969 and early 1970. Jimi can be heard developing exciting new material such as "Ezy Ryder," "Cherokee Mist," "Villanova Junction Blues," "Izabella," and "Burning Desire." Jimi Hendrix died more than 35 years ago without a will but under contract to Yameta Co. Ltd., a company owned by John Hillman. When Yameta was dissolved after Jimi's death Hillman lawfully assigned all the rights to himself. Years later Janie Hendrix of Experience Hendrix (Jimi's adopted sister) thought she was winning the rights from a former Yameta partner, but this chain has been proven to be unlawful by DragonSlayer owner Elvier von Lear and John Hillman. Hillman is working with von Lear to reclaim these rights to Jimi's name and likeness and produce an A-list feature films well as various endorsements and soundtracks. Proceeds will be distributed to Jimi's family members that have been cut out by Experience Hendrix for decades.
At no time has DragonSlayer or von Lear been to court, let alone lose. Dragonslayer needs no permission to carry on. von Lear continues to attempt a workable scenario with Experience Hendrix.

Einen wirklichen Leckerbissen der besonderen Art für alle Gitarren- und Bluesrock-Fans gibt es am 28.10.2006 im Stadtschloss Lichtenfels.
Die Formation "VOODOO CHILE" um den bundesweit bekannten Bluesrock-Gitarristen Steve Lauer aus Lichtenfels lädt zu einem Rock-Konzert im Stil der 70er Jahre ein. Dass dabei der Einfluss von Jimi Hendrix nicht zu kurz kommen wird, versteht sich von selbst. Auch Robin Trower, Ritchie Blackmore oder Stevie Ray Vaughan-Fans werden wohl auf ihre Kosten kommen. Es werden in erster Linie eigene Songs, aber auch Coverversionen gespielt.
VOODOO CHILE sind zwischenzeitlich über die Grenzen Deutschlands hinaus bekannt geworden und traten unter anderem beim großen "Blues Will Eat"- Festival in Nürnberg, beim größten Hessischen Bluesfestival, bei den Schmölzer Bluestagen oder auch bei der Heidenheimer Musiknacht in diesem Jahr auf.
Steve Lauer spielte bereits mit 17 Jahren mit seiner ersten Band als Vorgruppe von Birth Control, Franz K oder Jane und war sechs Jahre lang Vorführgitarrist auf der Frankfurter Musikmesse. Er gab Gitarrenworkshops in den etabliertesten Musikläden Deutschlands, Belgiens und Luxemburgs. Er ist auch einer der wenigen Musiker, die mit dem Bassisten der Jimi Hendrix Experience, Noel Redding, zusammen auf der Bühne standen.
Stefan Kratofil am Bass wurde als Bandgründer der Kronacher Formation "Solid Rock" bekannt. Die Rockröhre Jürgen Bergmann aus Burgkunstadt und Drummer Torsten "Groove" Langhammer aus Steinach vervollständigen das Quartett.

St. Paul, Minnesota is set to play host to Experience Hendrix: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix this September as part of the inaugural Wild River Music, Comedy & Film Festival. As part of the five-day event, last year's critically acclaimed release of Jimi Hendrix: Live At Woodstock [Deluxe Edition] will be shown during a special Film Screening on Friday, September 6 in the 3M Theatre at the Minnesota History Center [345 West Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul].

Jimi Hendrix, considered the most influential electric guitarist, dies at the age of 27 on September 18, 1970. Kevin and Eric have assembled some of Atlanta 's best rock and blues artists, including The Barry Richman Band, The Luxury Kings, Rand, rdj, and the Stooge Brothers. Each band will be performing the songs of Jimi Hendrix. 100% of the proceeds will go to CARE! . Kids these days watch MTV, dig R&B or rap and dance to techno. Yes most of them do. But not all. No sir. We are here to testify that many young kids dig Jimi Hendrix, oh yes they do. They know the lyrics of Crosstown Traffic, Purple Haze, Little Wing, you name it.
How do we know? We see it at our gigs, we talk to our crowds after the shows, get e-mails, read the guestbook. Oh yeah, many of them young kids are let’s say the age of 15 to 25.
This phenomenon brings us great pleasure, you bet, we’re not only playing for the fans who dug Jimi in the 60’s and still do now, but have the feeling to keep Jimi’s legacy alive, with all due respect to the master of the Stratocaster of course.

You cannot imagine a drama of the 1st of May - the Thanks Jimi festival. It was raining a day before and this from the morning as well.
Crowds of fans comin' in the rain with their guitars to Rynek - the Wrocslaw's Old Center Square ! The Festival concert starts at 1 pm - still rainin' !!! and just before "hey Joe" rehearsal at 3 pm. the rain stops... after this we had 1500 guitarist registrated (still 55 less than the american record) ... and just after the Record's "Hey Joe" performance and these guitars risin' - the Sun starts to shine ! It was like a miracle ... We registered 1581 guitarists finally and bit the World's Guinness record :-) I was looking these photo galleries several times ... Elliott Landy will be exhibiting eighty-five Fine Art Prints of my Sixties photographs at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in Delray Beach, Florida. The opening reception is April 26 at 6 PM. He will give a large screen presentation and talk beginning at 7 PM. This is the largest group of photos Elliott Landy has ever shown at one time so its going to be special for him as well. Das Publikum erlebt in seinen Bildern noch einmal die legendären Konzerte der Rockmusik. Carl van der Walle bannte sie alle auf die Fotoplatte: Mick Jagger, Peter Gabriel oder Jimi Hendrix. Vor seiner Kamera rockten alle, die den Musikstil "Rock" prägten. In seiner Ausstellung "talkin' 'bout my generation", die ab Sonntag, 12. Saturday October 29th 2005 was a moment in Rock'n'Roll history. That was the date when Jimi Hendrix's first ever Marshall Amp made a rare public appearance at a special gig in Stroud, England and some of Gloucestershire's youngest rockers got to play on it for a memorable 15 minutes.
The concert was hosted by BBC Radio Gloucestershire's John Rockley and the competition was organised by Jamie and Rich Dickinson along with. Rich's band Driving Force also played a set at the gig in Stroud prior to the winning band being announced.
Rich, from Gloucestershire, England, bought the amp in the 1970s for £65 when he was just 15 after he'd seen it advertised as an "ex Jimi Hendrix" amp.
It lay gathering dust in a wardrobe until earlier this year when Rich and his son Jamie decided to try to sell it on Ebay. There it attracted huge interest and when potential buyers started asking questions about its authenticity the lads decided to investigate a bit further.
Research
Marshall spotted the Amp while it was on eBay and contacted the Dickinson's. They said that they would love to see it before it was sold and ended up assisting with the three months research which followed.
This resulted in confirmation that it was Jimi's first Marshall - a Super 100, bought in 1966 and famously used on the Monterey tour which broke Hendrix in America in 1967.

NOVEL RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT SPIRITUAL MEANING IN SONG LYRICS
In less than nine months since its release The Gift of Gabe, has many readers wondering about the meaning of many well known song lyrics including songs by Jimi Hendrix. The novel is the story of an accidental meeting with an eccentric old man who claims that people who have had similar experiences can communicate these experiences to each other in ways that are not readily understandable to most people. An even greater claim made by the novel's main character is that during certain creative states some people can channel the Universal Mind and often be unaware that they have done so. What readers are finding remarkable is that the novel gives examples of songs they are familiar with and interprets them in a new way. Example after example is given by the main character who uses emerging scientific paradigms as well as various spiritual schools of thought to explain his view that the Universal Mind communicates to us through poets and musicians. Those cited include John Lennon and Paul McCartney as well as others. The author cites: Plato who said that poets can utter great and wise things that they themselves do not understand, Socrates who spoke of this in his Apology to the Athenians,some of the Sufi who call this shathiyat which is poetry/prose that comes during what they call an ecstatic state,and Joseph Campbell who called it poetry from the transcendent realm. One of the more controversial claims made by Gabe is that this poetic language is the 'speaking in tongues' that biblical Paul spoke of. The Gift of Gabe also explores the rise in interest in consciousness. Gabe claims that there is a new culture rising on the planet. Readers have been startled by the conclusion of this book that creates a new genre beyond visionary fiction.

Lenny Kravitz to Play Jimi Hendrix In Film
You read it here first: Lenny Kravitz is now in talks to play Jimi Hendrix in a biopic of the most famous guitarist in rock history. Sources tell me that Kravitz has secured the dramatic rights to Hendrix's music through his estate, and that his plan is to make his acting debut with the independent film. Lee Daniels, who directed the forthcoming "Shadowboxer" and produced "Monster's Ball," is said to be the producer/director involved. Kravitz is a natural to play Hendrix, from his look to his musical ability. And he may have the acting gene since his mother, the late Roxie Roker, was a star of "The Jeffersons" on TV in the 1970s. One thing the producers might have to do during post-production is eliminate Lenny's many trademark tattoos. This is a lesson for all you kids out there getting tats: one day you may not want them. They're not easy to eliminate. So now we've had biopics of Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, and this new Hendrix movie. Plus, of course,Tina Turner and Jerry Lee Lewis in recent years. What's next?
